Back to Use It Written on 21-Oct-2008 by StacyNelsonI was skeptical about a trash liner that decomposes and is made of cornstarch and vegetable oil. Does it get sticky when I throw out wet things? Will it really carry my trash or will it rip? And I have to say, I was REALLY surprised. Now that I've tried it I actually don't feel so bad about throwing things in the trash can!
For years, we've searched for an alternative to polyethylene-based plastics for the kitchen, the dog waste and the yard; and we're proud to finally say that we've found an answer in Bio-Bags and Garden Bio-Film. Made from cornstarch, vegetable oil and other renewable resources, all are 100% biodegradable and compostable. The bag is tough enough to handle your household and yard needs and breaks down in about a month. For your garden, use Bio-Film between the soil and your plantings to protect from weeds and frost and to stimulate growth. Within 90 days, 95% of the film will be decomposed, adding its nutrients to the soil. Each product meets strict U.S. and international certification standards.

We used a commercial version of these at a restaurant I worked at. They would sit all day long filling up with compostables which is HEAVY! When I changed the liners I could barely carry it but it held together just fine. A fine creation indeed.
